Hotel Insurance About UsThe Waveney Group was
established in the Suffolk coastal town of Lowestoft in 1964. We
have steadily grown, both organically and through acquisition, so
that today, our offices at Norwich, Lowestoft, Peterborough and
Ipswich, cover the whole of the East Anglia Region. Our team of over
40 experienced broking staff look after the needs of thousands of
clients, many of whom have been with us from those early days. We
are proud to say that it is both our attention to detail and the
ability to negotiate very good rates from Insurers that has enabled
us to grow as we have. Our senior team have been with the business
for many years, which means that we are very well connected to
leading Insurers. |

Recent growth has included, in 1999, the acquisition of Norwich
Broker Thurston Bailey & Buck and Lowestoft Broker Barber & Cox.
Later in 2004 a decision was made to concentrate on Commercial
Insurance, Schemes and Financial Services, with the personal lines
business sold to Swinton. At the same time, a separate, dedicated,
Schemes unit was set up in Norwich to handle mainly Internet and
telephone generated business in specific industry sectors. On the Financial Services side, in 2003/4, the business of Peterborough’s Read McLaren Ltd and the March-based Broker, Garner Timson were purchased. This was expanded in 2007 with the acquisition of McKenna Associates and the successful rebranding of the Peterborough-based business as Waveney McKenna Limited. In 2007, we became a Group Company in Brokerbility, a powerful national group of brokerage firms. This enables us to significantly increase our buying and negotiating power for policy wordings and claims negotiations, whilst remaining a strong and independent private business. Through Brokerbility, we have access to unique insurance schemes, wide policy wordings, beneficial products and rates on a par with any national broker. Today we continue to expand our client base and further acquisitions are contemplated. |
